Freshman Year

Mary Catherine Whitney enters Saint Francis as an incorrigible freshman. You’ve never seen a schoolgirl who was so intent on making mischief . . . or getting kicked out of prep school! She’s still very much a little girl . . . part of her is outgoing and fun loving, though she’s also somewhat shy, particularly when it comes to boys. She’s also very small and slight, looking more like 10 than 14.

The transition to adulthood is a long one for Mary . . . and often times painful as she grows up across the knee (and often desk) of Dean Andrew Michaels.

Andy Michaels has just been promoted from Assistant Dean to Dean of Students & Discipline, trying to settle into a challenging role. Being the Dean is very different than teaching or even acting as an Assistant Dean. He needs to find a balance between friend, mentor and disciplinarian and this job makes him grow up fast. He’d be the first to tell you that Mary the reason he’s starting to get gray hairs while he’s still in his 20s!
